Xbox Elite Wireless Controller: New Controller for Xbox One Will Be Customizable [Watch]
At the Electronic Entertainment Expo on Monday, Xbox One was given the chance to wow gamers with a new controller. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is coming this fall, and it will be useful and customizable, according to Tech Radar.
The new controller will be compatible for Xbox One and Windows 10 right out of the box. The Elite Wireless controller is more than just a slight update to the Xbox One controller, it is a whole new design along with customizable buttons.
A big change to the controller is the two pairs of paddle switches on the rear of the controller. These paddle switches will be especially valuable for racing games like Project Cars and Forza.
More additions have been made to the controller to make it usable for a wide variety of games.
The triggers will have adjustable force levels and "hair trigger" locks. These trigger locks will be especially useful for shooting games with automatic weapons.
A new D-pad has been added to the controller as well. This geometric D-pad ensures excellent accuracy for fighting and shooting games.
All of the buttons on the front of the controller can be switched around. The analog sticks can be swapped out as well. Changing out the buttons will allow the gamer to customize the controller to make buttons perform new functions according to their preferences.
If gamers prefer the old traditional D-pad, they can switch out the geometric D-pad and put in the classic style D-pad.
Xbox One calls the Elite Controller the controller designed for the Elite gamer. The controller will be extra accurate and the customizations will allow players to personalize their gaming experience.
The price on the Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller has not been announced yet, but it is expected to be quite higher than the traditional Xbox One controllers.
