If Amir Khan can't get Floyd Mayweather Jr. to fight him, perhaps, a chat with Mayweather Sr. will seal the deal?

The fighter, who recently won against Chris Algieri in their May 29 bout at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, claimed that he spoke to Mayweather Sr. about a possible fight with "The Money."

In an Instagram post, he said, "Spoke to Floyd Mayweather Snr[sic] on my Facetime. Will post soon....."

Details of the video or the transcripts of the video conversation are not yet available until this time.

If what he claimed is true, it would appear that Mayweather Sr. is warming up to Khan.

In May, Mayweather Sr. had an interview with FightHype.com to clarify his alleged comments to Khan. The 28-year-old boxer reportedly revealed that the elder Mayweather once told him that he'll be the guy to beat Mayweather Jr.

"I never ever said that he could beat my son. I never ever have said that any man alive could beat my son. Amir Khan has a glass jaw. He's not good enough, nor is anybody on the planet good enough to beat my son. He just wants to get a payday before it's all over with. That's the only way he'll be able to live comfortable like he wants to live. If he's going to continue telling lies, keep in mind, that's how lawsuits happen," the 62-year-old boxing trainer told the sports site.

Many boxing fans are still waiting for the video from Khan as several readers were doubtful of his claim. First of all, aside from ruffling the feathers of the senior Mayweather over his comments, he also mocked Mayweather Jr. just recently, in an earlier Instagram post.

Khan posted a picture of him donning a gigantic glove. The caption read, "Floyd Mayweather fight me. Promise you il[sic] wear this glove for the fight." This post is an obvious taunting comment pertaining to Mayweather's objection of Manny Pacquiao's use of Reyes gloves during their May 2, Las Vegas fight, because of lack of padding, BoxingNews24.com explained.

Second, Mayweather, who is retiring soon after a fight or two, is really choosing his next challenger well. Mayweather's camp does not even consider Gennady "GGG" Golovkin as a worthy opponent for him, TMZ reported.

So, does Khan who gave a "flat" performance, as described by The Guardian in his recent fight with Algieri stand a chance?
