The hit show "Nashville" will soon return to ABC for a fourth season. Unfortunately, Kyle Dean Massey will not return to the show as a series regular for the next season, TVLine notes.

"Officially, the ABC drama has no plans to make Massey, who plays Will's songwriter love interest Kevin, a series regular," TVLine's Ausiello says.

According to The Boot, there is another actor who will also not return to "Nashville" as a series regular. Teddy Conrad, who plays Eric Close, was last seen in the third season being handcuffed and taken away, making it the last time he will be on the show as a regular character.

Close was married to Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton). He later divorced her, ran for mayor and won. During his time in office, he was involved in a series of scandals. Close was later arrested at the end of Season 3 for embezzling funds to pay for an escort.

Meanwhile, ABC may have ditched Close to focus more on the music industry in Season 4 of "Nashville." But Close has two children with Jaymes so he might be back on the show a few more times.

"Nashville" will be returning to the small screen in the fall, ABC News announced.

Season 3 ended with a cliffhanger where Deacon and Beverly were both undergoing surgery and one of them flat-lined on the operation table, Scarlett and Gunnar almost acknowledged their feelings, Avery left Juliette while taking baby Cadence and more.

Fans are just waiting to see what happens next. Will Deacon and Beverly make it out of surgery alive? Will Scarlett and Gunnar finally acknowledge their feelings towards one another? What will be Avery's next move?

Tune into ABC at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, to catch the Season 4 premiere of "Nashville" to find out.
