Robin Williams News: Trailer for Actor's Final On-Screen Role in ‘Boulevard’ Released [Watch]
Even though the late Robin Williams was more well-known for his theatrical and TV comedy attributes, the actor was also capable of playing dramatic and emotional roles, which is evident in the trailer for his last on-screen role in "Boulevard," Entertainment Weekly reports.
Williams previously starred in "What Dreams May Come," "Patch Adams," "Insomnia," "Good Will Hunting" and "The World According to Garp." He was able to capture audiences as a dramatic actor, as these films went on to receive critical acclaim and box-office success.
Before Williams' death in 2014, the actor also portrayed another dramatic role for the upcoming film "Boulevard," and the heart-wrenching trailer will remind people of his acting abilities.
According to EW, Williams portrays bank manager Nolan Mack, who is in a marriage of convenience. An unlikely encounter forces him to reevaluate his life and his own sexuality in the film.
He meets a young man, Leo (Roberto Aguire), who is a hustler and this sets him into a new way of thinking that makes him take a good hard look at his life and happiness.
The film also stars Kathy Baker ("The Age of Adaline," "Edward Scissorhands") as his wife and Bob Odenkirk ("Breaking Bad," "Better Call Saul") as his friend who tries to convince him to start living his life the way he wants to.
This final performance for Williams on the big screen in "Boulevard" is due out on July 10. Although he will also be voicing a character in next year's "Absolutely Anything," he will not be physically present in any other new theatrical or TV roles.
Mashable reports that the film is directed by Dito Montiel, and it focuses on William's character who starts to lead the double life once his depression opens his eyes about what he really wants.
