iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus Rumors: September Release Likely, iPhone Could Get Thicker and Taller
The next iPhone is likely being released this September.
This does not surprise many Apple followers, because September is the usual time when new iPhones are released. Now, according to a leaked Vodafone email, the exact date of the release could be Sept. 25, Tech Radar reports.
The next iPhone will likely be called the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus. The next iPhone could be getting slightly thicker and slightly taller than the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6S is expected to be 0.2mm thicker and 0.15mm taller. This probably will not be very noticeable to most users.
Even the colors on the next iPhone could be getting a new look. The gold color will be more yellow than it was on the iPhone 6 and the space gray color will be darker. Additionally, a rose gold color and pink could be coming as well.
Apple might use the same strong material that is used in the Apple Watch Sport. The lightweight and strong Series 7000 aluminum alloy will make the body stronger than the iPhone 6.
A curved display for the next iPhone, similar to what the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and the Galaxy S6 Edge offer, is possible but pretty unlikely.
The size of the screen on the next iPhone will start off at 4.7 inches for the iPhone 6S and 5.5 inches for the iPhone 6S Plus. Those are the same sizes as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
A superior screen protection solution has been in the works since the iPhone 6. Apple tried to get the ultra durable sapphire displays on the iPhone 6, but due to production problems they were not able to. The iPhone 6S might finally be able to use these displays.
The next iPhone is expected to double its RAM from 1 GB to 2 GB. Additionally, the iPhone's camera is expected to be increased from 8 megapixels (MP) to 12 MP.
