The all-female driven "Ghostbusters" reboot has already started filming, and there are new details about the film and video from the set, according to the Boston Herald.

The movie appears to be more of a continuation from the original series than a reboot. In fact, former actors Bill Murray and Dan Akyroyd have yet to confirm they will be making an appearance on the new film.

But the Boston Herald still got a sneak peek at some of the storylines that are going to be visited in the script, which has been a closely guarded gem for the film's producers and director Paul Feig.

It appears as though Kristen Wiig will be taking top billing for this film since it follows her and Melissa McCarthy's characters after they write a book claiming ghosts are real. The film then jumps forward five years and follows Wiig to a teaching job she secures at Columbia University. But her book resurfaces and that eventually gets her mocked out of academia.

The story also takes a shift when ghosts invade Manhattan. Wiig then reunites with her co-author as well as Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones to team up as the proton pack superheroes that come in and save the day. Suffice it to say that Wiig gets to turn an evil grin toward her tormentors in academia at some point in the movie, but audiences will have to wait to see that.

In regards to Murray and Akyroyd, the Herald's "spy" said, "They are negotiating, but, of course, no one can get ahold of Murray."

One actor that has been confirmed to return to the show though is the lovable and creepy "Slimer."

The new film will premiere in theaters on July 22, 2016.

The Huffington Post was also close to the production during filming in Boston and caught a few glimpses of the actresses in character. See that video below of Wiig, McCarthy and Kate McKinnon in their costumes. But there is no Leslie Jones on the set yet.
