GTA 6 Release Date & Gameplay: What We Know About Rumored Grand Theft Auto 2018 Game
Barely a few months have passed since Rockstar Games introduced the long-awaited Heists DLC to "Grand Theft Auto 5" online and fans of the popular video game are already excited to see and get their hands on the next iteration of the title.
While many are already awaiting the arrival of "Grand Theft Auto 6," or "GTA 6," it might still be a long way off before gamers could play the latest version. An article posted on Vine Report hinted the possibility that the new title will be available to the market in 2018.
"GTA 5" took a long time before it was released in the market. It was first announced in 2011 but was made available only in 2013. It seems it will take another two more years before Rockstar Games will come out with an online heists expansion pack that was promised upon the first announcement of the game.
With the amazing gameplay and ideas the developers are putting into the title as well as the huge success of "GTA 5," a 2018 release date seems highly likely if Rockstar Games aims to top their current title out in the market.
While the people behind the video game did not skimp on the visuals and gameplay details, one thing that has been missing in all of the GTA titles is the presence of a lead female character.
But Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser revealed that they have considered putting a female lead in the game in previous titles.
"In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course," Houser told The Guardian in 2013. "We just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things we always think about."
Meanwhile, it was also rumored that Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling was the inspiration behind the next lead of "GTA 6." Movie Pilot wrote that Rockstar Games developers designed the lead with "The Notebook" actor in mind.
Aside from that, the report also hinted of the possibility that the game would return to Vice City in the 1980s for the upcoming title.
