Elizabeth Gutierrez Instagram: 'Brujas' Actress Stands Up Against Child Abuse, Responds to Donald Trump's Comments About Mexicans [Pics]
Elizabeth Gutierrez was looking beautiful as ever in one of her latest Instagram photos.
The actress was spotted in a beautiful blue dress as she arrived for a charity event for "Amigos For Kids." And she posted a few other images from the night, where she encouraged others to stand up against child abuse.
It's not the only cause Gutierrez has lent her voice to in the last week.
The "Brujas" start also had something to say about Donald Trump, who when he announced his presidential campaign bid insulted Mexicans and Latinos.
"How disappointing for people to talk about things they don't know," she said. "Having lived it first hand, I can say Latinos are one of the most hard working people!! I saw it, I lived how hard my parents worked to give us everything they could even though it meant putting themselves second to us!"
She continued to explain that Latinos, just like other groups, deserve to be treated well. And she continued to talk about migrating through her own experience.
"We Mexicans and all Latinos deserve to be treated with the same respect we give!!" she said. "We migrate to the United States looking for a better future for our families never trying to harm or take away anything from anyone!! Today more than ever I feel proud to be MexiCAN."
It was recently announced that Gutierrez and the father of her children, William Levy, split up.
In a tell-all interview with People En Español, Levy explained why the couple broke up. According to Latina, Levy stated that their relationship had run its course.
"The time that [Elizabeth and I] have ended, we have ended on good terms. It's never been because one of us cheated, nor her or me; it's never been any of things that people or the media is planting," he said.
But the actor maintained that the two are always going to be on good terms because of their children, which will always make the four of them a family. Levy and Gutierrez had been together since 2003 and are the parents of Tophy, who was born in 2006, and Kailey, who was born in 2010.
Both of them have been keeping busy.
Latina reports Levy is starring in the movie, "The Veil," while Gutierrez is attending charity events.
