‘The Avengers’ Sequels Might Feature Beyonce as a Superhero
The queen of the transcendent pop-music world has reportedly been in talks to revive her acting career as a superhero in the upcoming "Avengers" sequels, the "Infinity Wars" part 1 and 2, according to The Daily Star.
Beyonce is believed to be able to bring millions of new fans to the franchise, which has already seen record-breaking numbers with its first two installments. The most current sequel took $1 billion at the box-office in just six weeks, which is an outstanding performance for any movie in today's digital age.
Beyonce, 33, has supposedly been in negotiations with Marvel and Disney in regards to a specific role alongside the current female franchise stars Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch).
Although the role she is in negotiations to portray has not been specified at this point, it is clear that she is expected to be onscreen as a superhero. Those roles that are under consideration and inherent to the Marvel Comic universe are Boom-Boom, Blink, Tigra and Hawkeye.
"We would love to have Beyoncé on board, almost certainly as a newcomer to the screen from Marvel's existing catalogue of comic book characters," an unspecified senior executive at Disney said.
Beyonce and husband Jay Z recently made the move from New York to Holmby Hills in Los Angeles in an effort to revitalize the singer's acting career. Her credited roles include "Austin Powers: Goldmember," "The Pink Panther" and "Dreamgirls," a role for which she earned a Golden Globe nomination.
Comic Book reports that Marvel's "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1" is slated for release on May 4, 2018, and the followup, "Avengers: Infinity War Part 2," will be released on May 3, 2019. Both films will also get an IMAX release along with the standard theatrical release.
