James Rodriguez is a great soccer player on the field. He is also a great father off the field.

In honor of Father's Day, Rodriguez posted a video on Instagram of his daughter saying I love you to him. The athlete was so touched by her message, and he had his own kind words to say to her.

"I love you too," he said. "What I feel for you has no name. Happy Father's Day to all."

Rodriguez, who tried to calm down Neymar during the soccer brawl, was involved in his own controversy as well.

During the Spain-Peru Copa America match, Rodriguez was seen elbowing Peru defender Luis Advincula. Rodriguez was not issued a red card for that incident. According to Mirror, if he had been shown the red card, he would have faced a ban and joined El Clasico rival Neymar on the sidelines for at least the first game of the knockout stages.

Neymar will miss the rest of the tournament after being hit with a four-match suspension for his role in the post-match brawl between Brazil and Colombia.

Despite the elbow incident, Colombia advanced to the Copa America semifinals with a 0-0 tie over Peru. In the quarterfinals, Peru will play Bolivia and Colombia will face Lionel Messi's Argentina. Host Chile will play Uruguay and Brazil will meet Paraguay.

Rodriguez had expressed concern over Colombia's struggles on the field.

In an interview with ESPN FC, Rodriguez elaborated on his thoughts.

"When you play poorly, you end up paying for it. We played poorly in the first match and we played poorly today, that's why we are in trouble," he said. "If we want to win anything, we will have to work very hard."

Rodriguez will be available for Colombia's fixture with Argentina in the early hours of Saturday morning. See for yourself in the video below.
