There has been merging of genres -- classic literature and horror made for the big-screen, namely "Pride and Prejudice," which has been fused with a zombie theme, according to Deadline.

Screen Gems has announced that the first footage for the upcoming film "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" will be unveiled at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego, which runs from July 9 - 12 at the San Diego Convention Center.

The film, which has been scribed by Seth Grahame-Smith, plays directly out of the "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" playbook and takes that piece of history, fusing it with the supernatural elements.

In "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," Lincoln had a long-standing feud with vampires from his youth and his hunting activities took place aside from his political pursuits. The secret war that went on was behind the scenes and supposed to be a part of history that was "left out" of the history books.

"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" will take on a similar theme, where the story still plays out, but there has been a zombie apocalypse raging for 70 years. The Bennett sisters will take on the heroine duties in the film after getting fed up with the zombies' gruesome antics.

The cast includes Lily James, Sam Riley, Bella Heathcote, Douglas Booth, Jack Huston and Matt Smith. The film has been directed by Burr Steers. They will all be present at Comic-Con this year along with Grahame-Smith.

They will be presenting the new film footage to the world while there along with another Screen Gems original, "Patient Zero," which is about a virus that sweeps the people of Earth into a dramatic rage of violence. A man in this film is immune and seeks out "Patient Zero" to find a cure for his afflicted wife. Matt Smith also plays a role in this film.

Both films will have a panel on July 11 at Comic-Con. "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" opens in theaters everywhere on Feb. 19.
