'Mr. Robot' Season 1 Episode 1 Spoilers: Lead Actor Rami Malek Talks About New Show, Preview [Watch]
The series premiere of "Mr. Robot" debuts tonight on the USA Network.
The show, which debuted at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, is about Elliot (Rami Malek, who first broke out in the 2013 film "Short Term 12"), a brilliant computer expert with a fondness for hoodies and recreational heroin use who uses his Internet skills for vigilante justice. He meets a hacker by the name of Slater (Christian Slater) and the both of them team up to change the world through hacking.
According to the USA Network, Elliot must decide how far he'll go to expose the forces he believes are running (and ruining) the world.
The show received positive reviews from the Sundance Film Festival and critics across the United States.
Malek recently sat down for an interview with Forbes magazine. When asked what he hopes to do with his character Elliot, he stated: "I just want to make sure I keep him really grounded and relatable. For me, I would feel very humbled and honored if people were able to identify with Elliot no matter where he goes on this journey. So I just have to keep him real grounded, because as lofty as it is, I think he really can be a force for inspiration for not only young adults that are hungry for change, but anyone who feels like they have to fulfill something in their lives that they haven't been able to, or anybody who needs a little taste of something inspiring.
"I think Elliot, no matter what your gender or age is, maybe he can invigorate us to seek something like that out, whatever it is and whatever we're missing. He can imbue us with some sense of courage to go forth and do what we need to do," he continued.
The show itself is very intriguing. What will be in store for this series?
