Arnold Schwarzenegger has been very busy since leaving public office in 2011 as Governor of California.

His film roles have stacked up and he's been featured as both leads and cameo actors, which includes "The Expendables" franchise and a few solos. But he is now slated to take on a dramatic role in the new film "478," according to Deadline.

Although the "Terminator: Genisys" actor has been wont to claim roles that are geared for an action audience, he has been taking a few here lately that have been more light-hearted.

One good example of this would be this year's release of "Maggie," where he played a father to Abigail Breslin's title character. She was slowly turning into a zombie, and the dramatic chops outweighed the action and suspense, although it was still billed as a thriller.

"478" has been described as a "dark script" by "Enemy" scribe Javier Gullon.

The film is centered around a man (Schwarzenegger) whose wife and child die in a plane crash due to the incompetence of an air traffic controller. The ATC has been subsequently vilified for the incident and taken into protective custody.

The film has been thought to sound like a revenge film, with Schwarzenegger's character unable to let the situation go and seeks vengeance for his family. But it is more of a dramatic character piece that really gives him a chance to display his acting chops instead of his famous action sequences.

Schwarzenegger has been praised for his performance in "Maggie," which gave him a chance to portray a strong man who is unable to do anything to save his young child. In the case of "478," he will have to take the same emotions and put them on display.

Although he has returned to action films and the franchise that made him famous with "Terminator: Genisys," he has also shown that his range of acting abilities has expanded since his stint on the political stage.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the film does not currently have a director attached to the project. But producer Darren Aronofsky has come onboard and the film will likely take flight soon.
