"Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian West says the rumor that she and husband Kanye West had an in vitro fertilization gender-selection process done earlier this year to guarantee a baby boy is "false," reports Today.com.

Us Weekly reported on Monday that Kardashian and West had fertilized embryos of the preferred sex isolated in a laboratory. A doctor then transferred the embryos to Kardashian's uterus. The procedure cost about $17,000.

"She only had boy embryos implanted," a source close to Kardashian allegedly told Us Weekly.

The rumor of gender selection reached Kardashian in Cannes, France, where she, her mother Kris Jenner and sister Kylie Jenner attended Mail Online's yacht party, according to Today.com. When asked if the embryo rumors are true, Kardashian said, "False. It came from a tabloid and I'm grateful just to be pregnant and we would be happy with a boy or a girl."

The reality TV star also revealed she's already accumulating baby weight. "I've gained like 15 pounds already!" she said.

Kardashian suggested that she doesn't have a baby bump yet because the 15 pounds went primarily to one place on her body. "It's in my boobs right now. My boobs are huge!" she said.

It has been a difficult journey for Kardashian, 34, to give 2-year-old daughter North a baby brother. Fans have followed the mother of one through her struggles to conceive on E!'s "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." The "Selfish" author suffered many failed IVF tries and even consulted psychic John Edward for advice.

The fashionista revealed her second pregnancy on the midseason finale of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." A teaser clip for the episode shows her telling sister Khloe Kardashian: "I just got the blood test back and I'm pregnant!"

Kardashian is due to deliver her second child in early December, reports HollywoodLife.
