Although "Mad Men" has officially closed the curtain on the hit AMC show, star Jon Hamm (Don Draper) opened up about how the last scene in the finale took shape, which was about a two-year process, according to Business Insider.

The scene he was referring to was the classic commercial from Coca-Cola. The commercial showed a mountainside gathering of people singing the song "I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke."

In this scene, Don was meditating on a hillside when the camera slowly zoomed in on him in what has been construed as long-awaited moment of peace for the character in the series. As the camera zoomed in for what would be Don Draper's last moment onscreen, the scene segued into the classic Coke commercial.

That scene can be viewed below.

Hamm was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", where he explained using that commercial for the ending was something show creator Matthew Weiner was "seizing on around Season 4."

See that video below.

But even though Weiner was conceptualizing the ending around Season 4, he also had a wish list of things he wanted to wrap up on the show but did not get to, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Following a Writers Guild Foundation question-and-answer, which Weiner took part in, the venue manager found a rare gem that was left in the building. This was Weiner's "Wish List" for things he wanted to deal with before the series wrapped up.

On this list were a few notable things, such as "Sal - what happened to him?" and "Pete's Knowledge of who Don Is." Other situations on the list include Peggy's baby, Dr. Faye, Peggy and her mother's dynamic, and Smitty.
