The lawyer for Alma Delia Chávez, widow of the late Aldo Sarabia, was killed after being shot several times on Thursday.

La Opinión reports that the body of Luis Noriega Ordorica was found in critical condition and transferred to a private hospital. On the Spanish-language program "No Lo Cuentes," it was reported that the police is not aware how many people attacked the lawyer.

Ordorica was serving as lawyer to Chávez, who is currently in prison in connection to the murder of her husband. It has been previously reported that she and lover Javier Sandoval Estrada confessed in 2014 when the body of the banda musician was found. After the story was released, both changed their accounts, saying that Estrada acted alone.

Sarabia had been missing for a week when his body was discovered in Mazatlan, Mexico. Billboard reported that Sarabia's body was discovered with a bullet wound to the neck. He had also been beaten several times. His face was unrecognizable because it had been attacked with a shovel.

After the arrest of Chávez, her lawyer declared during an interview on Telemundo program "Al Rojo Vivo" that Sarabia had been a drug addict who physically and sexually assaulted Chávez and the couple's 11-year-old daughter.

Chávez said she never reported Sarabia because she was afraid of him. She later reported that he did not take the impending divorce well and that caused bigger problems between the couple.

On "El Gordo y La Flaca," host Raul de Molina confirmed that Chávez is no longer a widow. According to the host, she remarried during a ceremony performed in prison for various inmates and their partners.

The identity of her new husband is unknown, but it is reported that he had been visiting her in prison for some time.
