The former Destiny's Child members Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland are considered as best friends for life. However, their friendship is inevitably questioned after the "XO" singer's recent post on Instagram.

Aaliyah tragically passed away 12 years ago in a plane crash and last Thursday, Jan. 16, would have been her 35th birthday if she were still alive. As part of 'Throwback Thursday,' Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland both honored the late R&B singer's memory on their social media on her recent birthday.

"#weloveyouAaliyah #tbt," the X Factor judge first shared a snapshot of her and Beyoncé posing with the late singer on Instagram. In the nostalgic image, the R&B trio shows off their bright, wide smiles, while Aaliyah stands in between the Destiny's Child best friends.

Just hours after, Beyoncé also took to her Instagram account to post up the identical picture Rowland previously had shared. "God bless baby girl," she wrote the caption following the close-up shot.

However, there was a noticeable difference between the two photos -- Kelly Rowland was absent in Beyoncé's picture. The "Drunk in Love" singer's black-and-white version of the original photo clearly had her friend cropped out, only featuring herself and Aaliyah.

Fans consequently reacted on Twitter, criticizing Beyoncé: "Kelly posts pic of Aaliyah, Beyonce sees pic, crops Kelly out and posts it," someone tweeted, while another said, "Beyonce childish [sic]."

Similarly, F.Y.E. music store even commented on its official Twitter page saying, "Way harsh, Bey! Our Royal Beyness committed some serious #TBT theft & crop."
