Ever since Ubisoft Quebec confirmed that "Assassin's Creed Syndicate" is coming to gaming consoles, many fans of the historical action-adventure video game have been eager to see what's new in the upcoming title. A recent interview with the creative director of the game revealed new details about the title's setting and gameplay that will surely excite followers of the franchise.

Director Marc-Alexis Cote sat down with the official Xbox Magazine to talk about Assassin's Creed Syndicate. The upcoming title is set in Victorian London and is reportedly coming out with a new "rewards system" for player to enjoy.

According to Cote, the idea of coming out with a game that is set in Victorian London had been in the minds of the developers for a long time. But certain factors prevented them from releasing the game in that environment earlier.

"Victorian London has much wider streets. It's got a long field of view, as well," said the director. "I think we needed to wait and have the power of next-gen to showcase it in a way that would do the setting justice."

Ubisoft wanted to recreate the look of London during that period and for players to feel as if they have traveled from one location to another when they play the game.

Thus, Cote revealed that the major bulk of the development work was done in making the city and its burroughs look and feel different from one another.

"Our biggest investment without a doubt, is in the city itself," revealed Cote to the magazine. "In creating a city that lives and breathes. A city that is, for the first time in the history of the franchise, full of movement."

Aside from the dynamic setting, Ubisoft has also introduced vehicles such as carriages into its latest title.

"Any carriages that the player can see, they can interact with," said Cote to Games Radar. "They can hop on top of boats and trains to manipulate them to their advantage."

The developers have also added the use of a rope launcher for players to better scale taller buildings in the new game. Gamers can now "parkour" through the city with the added feature.

Meanwhile, players who enjoyed the rewards program of "Assassin's Creed Unity" will be able to do so in the upcoming title.

Ubisoft confirmed on its official blog that a special rewards program dubbed "Join The Family" will also be included in "Assassin's Creed Syndicate."

"By completing activities like reading articles, taking fan surveys or watching trailers, you can rack up points that can then be entered into winning awesome stuff like a trip to San Diego Comic-Con or a beautiful Assassin's Creed Syndicate skinned PS4 console," wrote the statement.

The Spin to Win slot machine game has also returned to the new title. Players can take the game five times in a week to rack up some points which are added into the Join the Family rewards program.
