Britney Spears Throws Shade at Iggy Azalea With One Tweet
Throwing shade at Britney Spears will only mean bad news for you. Iggy Azalea just got a taste of that.
The "Piece Of Me" pop star responded to comments that Azalea made about the song "Pretty Girls," which featured Azalea as guest rapper.
In her comments, it is believed that Spears is taking hits at Azalea's canceled tour. The rapper had to delay her "Great Escape" tour earlier this year but eventually, as E! Online reported, announced that it was canceled completely.
Spears is currently performing in Las Vegas as part of her two-year residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, joining musical legends like Cher, Celine Dion and, most recently, Mariah Carey, who also have residencies.
Can’t wait to get back to Vegas. So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to... #YouWantAPieceOfMe

Azalea's controversial statements were made when fans were questioned her about the lack of success the song has had on the charts. Azalea replied implying that the fault was that of Spears and her team for the lack of marketing and scheduled performances of the song.
@rhuancesarr its difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc. unfortunately im just featured... — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 28, 2015
Azalea tried to explain her comments with another tweet by stating that she did not have to agree with everything Spears does to be her friend, but the damage had been done and Twitter users began to criticize the 25-year-old.
@ThePopZone my comment is factual, it applies to any song. I dont have to suck the womans asshole 24/7 to be her friend, do i? bye girls. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) June 29, 2015
Azalea has been the subject of headlines for her career struggles as of late. Besides her canceled tour, controversial comments that lead to the cancellation of her appearance at Pittsburgh Pride, as Billboard reported, and an online petition to have her Billboard Award for "Best Rap Song" for her hit "Fancy" revoked.
