Huawei Honor 7 Specs: An All-Metal Smartphone with Powerful Camera, Stretched Screen
The next Honor smartphone from Huawei will feature a 20 megapixel (MP) camera and an all-metal body. The new smartphone was announced Tuesday at a press event, according to Android Central.
The Huawei Honor 7 will have an all-metal body in either gold, silver or dark gray. It will look similar to the HTC One M9, but it will have a flatter backing, CNET reports.
The screen on the Honor 7 will be 5.2 inches in size and will stretch across nearly the entire body with very little bezel on the edges. The sides of the device are slim and straight and include the volume and power buttons.
The back of the device includes the ultrapowerful and large 20 MP camera and flash made by Sony. There will also be a fingerprint reader on the back that will allow for users to unlock their devices. The front-facing camera is an impressive 8 MP, made for high-quality self-portraits (selfies).
A new button has been added to the Honor 7. This convenient button that Huawei calls the Smart Key gives users access to the Honor 7's voice commands. Pressing and holding the Smart Key allows users to give their device a voice command. By double pressing the same key, users gain access to Smartcare from Huawei. Smartcare can help book hotel rooms and keep track of appointments.
The Honor 7 will run Android 5.0 Lollipop with the custom user interface Emotion. Screenshots are easily taken with a simple button tap thanks to Emotion.
The inside of the Honor 7 features an octa-core Kirin 935 processor, 3 GB of RAM and a 3,100 mAh battery.
The entry-level Honor 7 will come with 16 GB of internal storage. There is also a SIM dual-standby LTE version and a larger 64 GB model.
Initially, the Honor 7 will be released in China on July 1. It will cost about $320 and should be expanding to different markets soon. Huawei has a goal of doubling its sales in 2015 and making this device available to as many markets as possible would be wise.
