Nick Cannon insists he is "very happy" to see ex-wife Mariah Carey move on from their doomed union and seek new fulfillment.

The "Hero" singer is rumored to be dating Australian billionaire businessman James Packer and the two have recently been spotted cavorting on his yacht in Spain, where the twin children she co-parents with Cannon have also been seen.

"Nick and Mariah are on better terms these days," a source told E! Online. "Mariah is in really good spirits and there has not been arguments with them for some time now. Nick is doing really well in his personal life and he just wants Mariah to be happy. He feels as long as his kids are in good hands, he will support any decision Mariah makes."

After six years of marriage, Cannon formally filed for divorce earlier this year and soon after that Carey slapped him with a legal order prohibiting him from discussing their time together in great detail or run the risk of being penalized in any potential settlement talks.

Since then, the two are apparently trying to be civil to one another in all their dealings.

"Mariah will always be in Nick's life that will never change," a source added. "It makes Nick happy that Mariah is in a great place in her life between work and love."

Indeed, the relationship between Carey and Packer appears to be heating up really quickly. Several media outlets have reported the two have already begun entertaining thoughts of getting married after just several weeks of publicly dating.

Meanwhile, over the last several months Cannon has been romantically linked to Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Jessica White, Eddie Murphy's ex-wife Nicole Murphy and entertainer Amber Rose.
