A new app is revolutionizing social networking. Between is an application most popular in Asia where couples can share media, statuses, messages and notes. The phone application is just like a Facebook or Twitter but just for you and the person you choose, no one else.

Couples have found shelter in the app Between where they can privately share whatever they want without being disturbed by other users. Created by Seol-based start up Value Creators & Company, the app has hit five million downloads in two years. The average users of the app are in their mid-20s and are usually couples in a relationship.

Value Creators CEO Park Jaeuk says that the reason for the more than half a million users in Japan, Thailand and Singapore is the "social media fatigue". Facebook is often known as the reason for the end of many relationships. So when you get to get rid of all of those extra people, you get Between, an intimate social network just for you and him.

Between works by simply installing the free app with someone you are romantically involved with, though that isn't required. You provide the app with the person's phone number and you wait for them to accept your request. Once they have accepted, you can start instant messaging, keep journals, exchange voice messages, post pictures and leave comments. You can also set anniversaries and birthdays as reminders on the app's calendar. Between also offers a blog space where the two users can create photo albums and long notes.

CEO Park said the company promotes monogamy and allows one person per account. But don't worry; nothing happens if you have more than one account, there are no judgments in Between. Couples are even revealing that they have stopped using their iPhone's iMessaging and have committed to the app as their everyday source of communication.

Sounds fun, huh? So, are you going to download Between?
