Donald Trump’s recent incendiary comments about Mexico sending over its criminals and rapists to the United States have been met with a massive backlash in the entertainment industry as Univision and NBC both have dropped Trump productions.

Now its appears members of Trump's own political party are speaking out against the real estate magnate-turned-politician.

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., another GOP presidential hopeful, has denounced Trump's statements.

"Trump's comments are not just offensive and inaccurate, but also divisive," says the 44-year-old Republican senator from Florida. As reported on Mediate, Rubio went on to insist, "Our next president needs to be someone who brings Americans together -- not someone who continues to divide."

On July 1, former New York Gov. George Pataki posted on his campaign website a condemnation of the one time host of "The Apprentice," stating, "The last week of news coverage over the language used by Donald Trump to describe Mexicans has left me and a lot of other sensible people wondering what century we are living in."

Pataki likened Trump's disparaging comments about Mexican to the epithets Irish immigrants had to endure a century ago.

The response from celebrities has been pretty obvious as well. Jon Stewart recently addressed the difficulty in giving any credence to Trump’s remarks by joking, “It’s hard to get mad at Donald Trump for saying stupid things, in the same way you don’t get mad at a monkey when it throws poop at you in the zoo.” As quoted in Us Magazine, Stewart went on to say, “What does get me angry is the ridiculous, disingenuous defending of the poop-throwing monkey.”

Former “Ugly Betty” actress, America Ferrera, wrote an open letter to Trump for the Huffington Post in which she said, “Your negativity and your poorly thought out speech ignited a fire in our community.”
