Massachusetts Police Searching to Identify Missing Girl Found in Trash Bag
Massachusetts police are trying to identify a girl who was found dead in a trash bag.
A dog walker found the girl's body near Logan Airport in the Boston Harbor on June 25, ABC News reports. Massachusetts' state police said the little girl was found with a fleece blanket wrapped in a trash bag. The director of media relations for the state police, Dave Procopio, said the girl showed no signs of trauma.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created a computer image of what the girl may have looked if she was alive. State police released the photo of the girl on Thursday who appears to be 4 years old.
Images of the zebra-print fleece blanket were released as well with a pair of black and white polka-dot leggings she may have had on. Authorities say the little girl weighed about 30 pounds, stood 3 feet 6 inches tall and had brown hair and brown eyes.
Procopio said that police have received a lot of tips so far but no family members have come forward as of yet.
Authorities are investigating the case while no cause of death has been determined.
As police are responding to calls, NECN reports that the girl may have been a victim in a high profile case.
Residents are giving tips about the little girl, saying that she may be Ayla Reynolds from Maine who went missing back in December 2011 when she was just 20 months old. Another tip says she could be Aliayah Lunsford who went missing in West Virginia in September 2011. She may also be Caleigh Harrison, who might have been swept out to sea in Rockport three years ago.
Authorities stated they do not think that the girl's body was there for a long time.
Massachusetts state police are still asking for tips. They urged people to call 508-820-2121 if they know anything.
