A redesigned Google Nexus 5 will likely be made by LG. According to Tech 2, this Nexus will not be based on the LG G4 and instead will be made from scratch by LG.

"LG will build the upcoming Nexus smartphone, but it will be based on an unreleased prototype." The latest phone from the company will not be based on the LG G4, adds the report by Android Pit.

With Google dropping the price on its Nexus 6, signs are pointing to another Nexus product launch. The 2015 version of the Nexus 5 will try to replicate the success of the last Nexus 5 made by LG.

While LG looks like it has the contract to make the Nexus 5, code-named Angler, Huawei will also reportedly create a larger Nexus, code-named Bullhead, according to Android Pit.

The LG version of the Nexus 5 will have a 5.2-inch screen, a Snapdragon 808 processor and a 2,700 mAh battery. The larger Nexus 5 from Huawei will be costlier and have a 5.7-inch screen, a Snapdragon 810 processor and a 3,500 mAh battery.

LG will look to improve the camera in the Nexus 5. The camera in the LG G4 is one of the best available, but the Nexus 5 is said to be a mid-priced smartphone, so it might not be able to use such a premium camera.

The last Nexus 5 had some battery issues, so LG will look to make some improvements this time around. Google and LG might choose to use a screen with less resolution in order to save on battery life.

The new Nexus 5 will almost certainly come with Android M pre-installed. The next operating system from Android, code-named Android M for now is expected soon, and it would make sense that the new Nexus 5 would come out shortly after that and feature the updated operating system.
