Justin Bieber DUI and Court Case: Singer Leaves Miami And Escapes to Panama for Intervention
After a weekend to remember in Miami, Justin Bieber has departed the Sunshine State for the sunny shores of Panama... where he got the shock of his life when his former mentor, Usher, stopped by to stage an intervention on his behalf.
According to TMZ, the embattled pop singer is down in Panama with manager Scooter Braun, best friend Ryan Butler, and Usher... all for a sit-down to discuss his recent rash of less-than-desireable behavior. (The better word, of course, is "intervention.") Now, while neither singer has confirmed that this is an official intervention, several fans who have posted photos have mentioned that they are definitely down there for an intervention.
Meanwhile, according to CNN, a decision in Justin's "egging" case could be forthcoming very quickly. The district attorney of Los Angeles County will determine if he needs to file felony charges against the Beebs for his participation in a situation that resulted in his neighbor's house accruing over $20,000 in damages. If Bieber does indeed face felony charges, it could mean jail time, probation, and a big effect on his pockets between fines and restitution, as well as his inability to tour the world.
It could also be, according to the same site, that the Miami arrest of the singer was much ado about nothing. Reports CNN, "The head of the exotic car rental company that owns the yellow Lamborghini he was driving told CNN on Saturday that the GPS tracking system in the high-performance car indicated that Bieber never exceeded 55 mph in the 15 minutes before the stop. The Breathalyzer tests and the GPS information could help Bieber lawyer Roy Black in his defense of the singer. Bieber fled Miami late Friday, boarding a private jet for a flight to Panama City, Panama. Paparazzi photos showed Bieber strolling along a beach on the Pacific Ocean on Saturday, kicking a soccer ball while others kite surfed above the waves. He could learn this week if his next trip is to a Los Angeles courtroom."
