Mega Millions Numbers & Results July 3, 2015: Live Stream of Drawing Time For $96M Jackpot
So you overspent a bit over the holiday weekend? Or you are hoping to spend the next Fourth of July on a private island in the Caribbean? Then you might want to purchase a Mega Million ticket on Tuesday as the jackpot of the multistate lottery has climbed to a sizable $96 million.
If you choose to participate, you might also want to tune in at 11 p.m. EST, which is when the draw for tonight's big prize is set to take place at the studios of WSB-TV, Atlanta's ABC affiliate.
If you hit the jackpot and want to take home every last penny, the total prize will be paid out in annual installments over a 29-year period. Otherwise, you have the option of an immediate lump-sum payout of about $56 million.
Just make sure to actually check whether you have won -- or you might be in for a big surprise, as was the case with Sonier De La Cruz, a San Diego man who waited more than a week to check his Mega Millions ticket just to find out that he had won more than $430,000, CNS reported.
The lottery's winning numbers from the last drawing on July 3 were 33, 50, 64, 71 and 72; the Mega Ball number was 9, and the Megaplier number was 4, according to the game's official website. The estimated jackpot had been $84 million but no one matched the winning Mega Millions numbers on that day.
The Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday, and the draw entry closes at 10:45 p.m. Eastern Time. Tickets for the game are sold in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands -- a total of 45 jurisdictions. The odds of winning any prize are about 1 in 15, but your chances of hitting the jackpot are only about 1 in 259 million.
If you want to find out how close you are to a similar feat, check here to find out how to watch the Mega Millions drawings at 11 p.m. EST.
