‘Scream Queens’ Keke Palmer Talks About Season One
The hype for the upcoming premier of Fox's new horror-comedy anthology series "Scream Queens" is really starting to grow and one of the stars, Keke Palmer, has opened up about the filming of Season 1 and what fans can expect, according to People.
The first thing she wanted to talk about, though, is sisterhood, especially on the production set.
"It feels like we're our own little sorority house," Palmer told People. "We have seven, eight of us, and we all have so many different personalities."
The series, the brainchild of "American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy, also features Ariana Grande, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele and Abigail Breslin in leading roles for the series.
Murphy had previously stated that out of the 25 characters on the show, only four of them will survive and make it to Season 2.
The series will feature the actresses as members of the fictional sorority Kappa Kappa Tau and will also have to contend with the original "Scream Queen," Jamie Lee Curtis ("Halloween," "Halloween II," "Prom Night").
Palmer's time on set was not spent around a bunch of strangers, but rather people she grew up with like Nick Jonas, Grande and Roberts.
"Ariana and I spent time [together] doing Nickelodeon stuff. Our shows were on at the same time, so we spent a lot of promo times together," Palmer told People, adding, "We actually tested out of school together! We rode there with our moms -- we were about 16 or 17 -- so I definitely have a relationship with Ariana before we did the show. And seeing all her success, I've always been so happy for her."
She also talked about how Murphy had picked up on the specific attributes of her co-stars and incorporated those into the show's writing, even placing certain personalities of their's on-screen.
Palmer described herself as having an old-school vibe, which she alternately said was an "Auntie thing" with a "Southern drawl."
