F-16 Fighter Jet, Small Cessna Plane Collided Near Charleston, South Carolina, 2 People Killed
A F-16 fighter jet and a small plane collided over the skies of Charleston, South Carolina, and two people have been killed.
The Federal Aviation Commission announced, via Yahoo, that the two planes collided around 11 a.m. The crash took place 11-miles north of Charleston. Lt. Jenny Hyden, spokeswoman for Shaw Air Force base, said that the pilot ejected to safety and was taken to base for observations.
According to the Associated Press, two people have been killed in the crash.
On Twitter, Shaw Air Force Base tweeted:
A Shaw AFB F-16 fighting falcon crashed today near Joint Base Charleston at 11:30 a.m. The pilot on board is accounted for.

There were witnesses who saw the crash. Wayne Ware told The Post and Carrier of Charleston he was going out for a walk when he heard the crash. He stated, "I turned around, and I saw the jet. Pieces started falling out of the sky."
Kathryn Dennis, star of Bravo TV's "Southern Charm," was at her family home on Lewisfield Plantation when she "heard some crash sounds" at approximatel 11:30 a.m. She heard sirens for some time after that.
"There are pieces of aircraft around the rice fields," she said. "There are parts of the plane in our yard.
The investigation is underway for the cause of the crash.
