In less than three months "Grey's Anatomy" fans can once again watch their favorite medical drama. Season 12 will debut for your viewing pleasure on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m. EDT, reports the "Grey's Anatomy" Facebook page.

There will be changes to the show's cast, including permanent additions. Jason George, who plays Dr. Ben Warren on the ABC Series, told the Tribute in June that his guest character has been added as a series regular.

"I'm the newest series regular on 'Grey's Anatomy.' So there you go, you are not done with me, I'm going to be around for a little bit!" he said.

Ben will move back to Seattle from Los Angeles to follow Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and lands a fifth intern position.

George can also be seen in the film "With This Ring" which launched on DVD last month. In the film he also plays a doctor.

Sarah Drew, who portrays April Kepner, also dished to Entertainment Weekly recently that Season 12 would delve into April and Jackson Avery's (Jesse Williams) storyline as the couple tries to "find their way back to one another," following the Season 11 finale.

The death of their son, Samuel, due to a lethal birth defect stressed the couple. The tragedy was followed by April's confession to Jackson in the finale that she wanted to re-join the army. Jackson gave his blessing, but he also said that he would not wait for her return.

"If I go, then we're done? You're calling it?" she said.

It was a heartbreaking cliffhanger, but Drew assured Entertainment Weekly that the couple's romance is not over just yet.

"We haven't actually broken up. We're left on the precipice. He's given me an ultimatum that gives us room to figure out what's going to happen next season," she said. She added that she "really, really" hopes the two can work out their issues. "We'll see where the show takes us in Season 12."

There is also the possibility of April becoming chief since Dr. Owen Hunt's (Kevin McKidd) is retiring from the post. But does she want it?

"There's so much paperwork. You get buried in the politics of the hospital. All she wants to do is get her hands dirty. She wants to be in traumatic situations, fixing and healing people. She has found herself to be a healer in a pretty dramatic way that goes beyond being a surgeon. There's something that spiritual for her," Drew said.
