For many, the beloved and highly acclaimed Cuban orchestra group Buena Vista Social Club not only provided world-class music that moved generations, but it created a movement, a treasured style and an energetic and savory way of life.

Buena Vista Social Club will return to the Mexican capital with their 'Adios Tour' (Farewell Tour) at the National Auditorium on Nov. 15, concert organizers announced Tuesday, EFE reports.

The Grammy award-winning orchestra, which "brought together a group of traditional Cuban music legends in 1996, will be back again to woo the city with their music, dance and the 'candela' of traditional Cuban music, following their last performance in February."

Buena Vista Social Club's album of the same name was a massive success. Word-of-mouth created huge album sales without the need of marketing for the famous group.

Buena Vista Social Club's Grammy win and impressive crossover success caught the attention of Wim Wenders, an acclaimed director who decided that he wanted to highlight the group's incredible talent and story, according to the Buena Vista Social Club's official website. He went on to make an award-winning feature film about the phenomenon.

"The record's success launched what can only be described as Cuba-mania, helping to inspire a thousand salsa dance classes and Cuban-themed bars on every high street," explained Nick Gold, whose World Circuit label released the record.

"At its peak, it seemed that you couldn't move without hearing Buena Vista's potent, captivating soundtrack: in coffee shops and mojito bars and even department stores and elevators songs such as Chan Chan, Dos Gardenias and Candela came to accompany our daily existence."

Today the Buena Vista Social Club album's global sales reportedly stand at over 8 million, thus making it "the biggest-selling Cuban album in history."
