Even the most quirky fictionist could never have dreamed up this unlikely pairing: multi-awarded actress Meryl Streep and rapper 50 Cent enjoying each other's company at the Knicks game, even holding hands at one point. Entertainment Wise reports that the odd pair was snapped laughing and clapping together, clearly comfortable in their newfound friendship.

The Sunday night game at the Madison Square Garden featured the fight between the New York Knicks and the LA Lakers. Apart from the thrilling spectacle on court, basketball fans were just as intrigued by the courtside action as Hollywood legend Ms. Streep appears to have found a new BFF in 50 Cent.

As the game progressed, the two became such basketball buddies that by the end of the game, the Oscar winner and the 'In da Club' rapper hooked up and cornered Kobe Bryant for a group photo - with the talented actress even striking a rapper pose with 50 Cent by her side, notes Dime Mag.

It appears that the 'Queens, NY' rapper is star struck with the 'August: Osage County' star, as revealed by his Instagram post saying, "Things got a little gangsta. Lol TURN UP, Turn Down for what! #smsaudio."

The rapper even said, ''Man I got a good life man lol#smsaudio," in another Instagram post, indicating how fortunate he is to have sat next to the silver screen icon.

50 Cent, named Curtis James Jackson III in real life, was so awestruck that he even took time to create a meme from another snap of the pair, showing Ms. Streep with her hands on her cheek and Curtis cupping his chin in his palm. 50 Cent captioned the shot: "Oh my goodness, I'm gonna win another Oscar," for Meryl; and "My God all we do is win," for himself.

The seating arrangement courtside is of course a totally random and extremely lucky occurrence for the G-Unit producer. Meryl watched the game with her husband Don Gummer, while 50 Cent appeared to have brought his hommies.

This odd turn of events clearly shows that anything and everything can happen at a Knicks game, with fans now looking forward to enjoy the game on court, as well as surprising celebrity happenings courtside. Check out a few of the pair's photos below.
