LG G4 Beat Specs, Features & Release Date: A Mid-Priced Smartphone With 2 Solid Cameras
The next LG G4 device will have advanced features for its photos and it will have a lower price tag, TechRadar reports.
The device was rumored for months and it was expected to be called the LG G4S. LG instead decided to call this mid-priced smartphone the LG G4 Beat, according to an official press release from the company.
Tech analysts correctly predicted most of the features in the G4 Beat. The phone will use a 1.5-GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 1.5 GB of RAM and have a 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 display.
The camera on the back of the G4 Beat will be just 8 megapixels (MP), but it will have some advanced features for its photos. The 8-MP camera will be equipped with the LG Color Spectrum Sensor. This sensor gives more natural colors. The camera will also include a laser autofocus and a manual mode.
The front-facing camera will be 5 MP and its unique feature will be the LG Gesture Interval shot mode. This mode allows a user to take up to four consecutive pictures with just one hand gesture.
The LG G4 Beat will come with just 8 GB of storage. It will be powered by a 2,300 mAh battery and come with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop pre-installed.
Available in three colors, including metallic silver, ceramic white and shiny gold, the LG G4 Beat has a similar look to the plastic version of the LG G4.
The specs on the LG G4 Beat make it a solid mid-range device. It is not on the same level as the premium LG G4, but it still has some nice features.
Giving the LG G4 name to so many devices could lead to some confusion though. Joining the LG G4 is the LG G4 Stylus, the LG G4c and now the LG G4 Beat. Customers need to be aware that the LG G4 is the high-end device and the others are below it.
The LG G4 Beat will be priced below the LG G4, but likely higher than the LG G4c. It will first be available in Europe and Latin America this month, followed by a global rollout shortly after.
