'Entourage' Movie Release Date & Cast Updates: Billy Bob Thornton Joins Film as Cowboy Billionaire?

Billy Bob Thornton joins the party boys of Hollywood in Doug Ellin's "Entourage" film. According to an article on The Hollywood Reporter, Thornton will play a cowboy billionaire who has entered a deal with Adrian Grenier's Vincent Chase and his gang.

Similar to the general plot of the television series, the film will feature a movie within a movie. That is, Chase lands a starring role in a big-production adaptation of Dracula. Thornton's billionaire character enters the story as the fictional film's major financier. That sounds simple enough.

Of course, the "Entourage" movie is about the Hollywood life and in Hollywood, there's no such thing as simple.

As the movie's financier, the cowboy billionaire needs to know that he's getting his money's worth so he send his son to celebrity-land to oversee the production. This is where the fun begins as Chase, Turtle, Johnny Drama, Eric "E" Murphy, and Ari Gold, try to deal with the billionaire's heir.

ComingSoon reports the film will take place six months after the events of the television series with Jeremy Piven's power-player Gold taking a job at a major studio. Along with Thornton, Piven, and Grenier, the film will reunite original cast members of the series such as Jerry Ferrara, Debi Mazar, Kevin Dillon, Scott Caan, and Kevin Connolly. Kate Upton is rumored to be joining the cast as well.

Confirmation about the movies production was first reported in January 16 of this year as cast members posted on their Instagram accounts photos of them together on the set of "Entourge".

Initial production of the film suffered major delays due to salary and contract disputes between the cast members that led many fans of the show to believe that the spin-off film will never be made. Fortunately, everyone involved in the film managed to settle their differences and agreed to a generally fair deal.
