'Club de Cuervos,' Netflix's First Original Series in Spanish, Debuts Trailer
In the dramedy "Club de Cuervos," the first original series in Spanish language by Netflix, there are definitely a lot of balls to juggle in the air when you're trying to gain control of a beloved Mexican soccer team that has a huge fan following.
Then, add in the complications of a wealthy family at odds for that position of power, triggered by the death of the patriarch, and you end up playing a whole different type of game -- but with the same goals.
The new 13-episode series, which just debuted its official trailer, is based on this scenario. The heirs of the Iglesias family are battling it out to determine who will gain control of the professional soccer team, The Cuervos of Nuevo Toledo.
"Club de Cuervos" just debuted its official trailer and it brings the laughs, the rivalry and drama -- and don't forget the sexiness -- "off the field and in the locker rooms."
"Egos, tempers, insults and soccer balls fly as the party boy brother, the work obsessed sister, a (possibly) pregnant girlfriend, the beleaguered team captain and everyone else in between all enter the pitch, all vying to score a personal goal," according to Netflix.
"Club de Cuervos" is the brainchild of Mexican filmmaker Gaz Alazraki ("Nosotros los Nobles") and stars Luis Gerardo Méndez as Chava Iglesias and Mariana Trevino, as Isabel Iglesias Reina.
The series also features Stephanie Cayo, Ianis Guerrero, Antonio de la Vega, and Daniel Gimenez Cacho as "Felix."
Check out the official trailer for "Club de Cuervos," which kicks off its 13 episodes starting Aug. 7 on Netflix.
