This week a number of indie films will be released on DVD as the studios do not want to compete with films like "Ant-Man," "Trainwreck" and "Pixels." The releases include a Kung-Fu movie and a horror flick.

"Wild Horses": The biggest release of the week is by far this western with James Franco and Robert Duvall. The movie premiered at the SXSW Film festival where it scored mixed reviews and did not get much press. Directed by Duvall, the film tells the story of a detective who opens up an old case about a missing person and begins to suspect that the boy it belongs to was murdered. The movie barely received a theatrical run as reviews were mixed. With very little buzz, this movie is unlikely to get much audience and will likely get buried.

"What We Do in the Shadows": Having been released in February, this film became an unexpected box office success. The movie by Jemaine Clement tells the story of Viago, Deacon and Vladislav, vampires who are finding that modern life is a struggle with such mundane activities in the modern world.

The foreign film was released by Unison/Paladin and was a huge festival hit in Berlin and Toronto as well as Hawaii and Warsaw. Word-of-mouth will make this a cult classic when it comes out on DVD.

"Kung Fu Killer": Starring Donnie Yen, this martial arts film tells the story of a martial arts instructor from the police force who gets imprisoned after killing a man by accident. However, his fate changes when a vicious killer starts targeting martial arts masters. Nominated for the Hong Kong Film awards, the movie was well respected in China when it was released. While it has not received much exposure in the states, this will definitely appeal to Kung-Fu fans.

Other releases this week include the seventh season of "Ancient Aliens" and "Robot Chicken." The horror flick "Starve" will also be released.
