The original triumvirate from "Silver Linings Playbook" of Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro are back in a new comedy titled "Joy," according to an article on Deadline.

Lawrence earned her first Oscar for "Silver Linings" playing alongside Cooper in what most have called the perfect pairing for an on-screen duo who played off each other very well. The two have gone on to star in two more films together, one of which also included De Niro in a minor role ("American Hustle").

The new movie is a biopic about Joy Mangano, who was initially a struggling mother-of-three that lived in Long Island, New York.

Mangano was married for a while but her husband left her and she became the sole breadwinner for her remaining family, which led her to a successful endeavor as an inventor -- an unlikely scenario for the young mother.

She used the invention to become a pioneer in the field and that eventually led to her thriving family dynasty that would empower her family and bring corruption to the table.

Cooper plays an executive at the Home Shopping Network that helps Mangano by giving her the exposure she needed to bring her product to a mass-audience. De Niro plays the role of Mangano's father, who is pained to see his daughter struggle but thrilled to see her succeed.

Mangano eventually becomes a true boss to many and morphs into the family matriarch that is plagued by betrayal and treachery at many points. The movie is described as a feel-good, emotional and dramatic comedy that gives viewers an intimate view of her story, based on the real-life Mangano.

The cast also features Edgar Ramirez, Isabella Rossellini, Diane Ladd and Virginia Madsen.

The film is slated for a Christmas release this year, on Dec. 25.
