Former World Boxing Council Middleweight champion Julio Cesar "Son of Legend" Chavez Jr. (48-2-1, 32 KOs) and Marcos "Dorado" Reyes (33-2, 24 KOs) will face each other in an all-Mexican showdown on Saturday.

Where to Watch, Live Stream

The Chavez Jr. - Reyes bout on Jul. 18, 2015, at 10 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) will be held at the Don Haskins Convention Center in El Paso, Texas. The fight can be viewed via Showtime TV or via live stream on Showtime Online, according to Bleacher Report.

Fight Preview

Chavez, whose most recent fight was a disappointing 9th round TKO loss against Andrzej Fonfara in April, is out to prove that he still has what it takes to be a great fighter like his well-respected six-division champion father. Aside from the win, he also aims to clash with the undefeated Kazakh superstar Gennady "GGG" Golovkin who delivered 30 KO wins out of his 33 triumphs.

"I must win this fight and then everyone will see that I am capable of fighting the big names like [Gennady] Golovkin," Chavez Jr. said, as quoted by World Boxing News.

With this in mind, he chose veteran trainer and former boxing champion Robert Garcia to prepare him well for the upcoming fight.

Reyes, on the other hand, had a unanimous eight-round decision win over David Alonso Lopez last Jan. 24. This means, the 27-year-old Mexican, who made his professional debut at age 19, is still on a high and ready to beat Chavez Jr.

Reyes also saw Chavez's performance against Fonfara three months ago and that prompted him to have a stronger goal of not just winning, but emerging as a victor by a stoppage.

"I saw that he's a human, like me. He can fall down, so that's one of the things I'm trying to do in this fight -- taking him to the floor. I plan on knocking him down," Reyes told ESPN.

Predictions

Reyes' camp, through Hall of Famer Nacho Beristain's statements, is quick to predict that their corner will bag the prize in this upcoming El Paso showdown. Beristain said that his fighter would take a decision win, but he is also not ruling out the probability of Reyes knocking out Chavez, Boxing Scene reported. Aside from the confident predictions, the legendary trainer also delivered criticisms directed to the other camp's boxer.

"I think the problem is the son of the legend and not the trainer. The problem is that maybe he doesn't like to train. He was training with his aunts and uncles who are boxing people that have all of the enthusiasm in the world. He's changing his trainer all the time and that is very damaging to the fighter," Nacho said.

Garcia, on the other hand, expressed confidence in Chavez. For him, the boxer still has a chance to redeem himself.

"I want to be able to prove that I'm capable of bringing somebody back somebody that people don't believe in... People seem to forget what I did with (Marcos) Maidana, who was on the verge of retiring and come back to become a superstar. These are the challenges that I like and I think Chavez will be a perfect one," Garcia told The Orange County Register.

More recently, Garcia said that Junior is "doing everything he has to do" and that training him has "been easier than he ever expected," World Boxing News reported.
