Yesterday, tabloids reported that Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama are engaged. Today, a rep for Lovato spoke out to reveal the truth.

According to Hollywood Life, Lovato, 21, visited Valderrama on the set of his upcoming show, From Dusk Till Dawn. The same day, Lovato posted a picture on her Twitter page wearing a ring on her left ring finger:

As a result, tabloids started to suspect that the former Disney channel star and former That '70s, Show star were preparing to be wed. Perez Hilton even claims that in November, Valderrama bought a ring from Tiffany & Co. to give to Lovato.

"Demi is going to be a happy girl when she gets it," an "insider at the store" told the website. "He didn't say what it was for, but he was really excited and happy. He seemed like any other guy getting ready to pop the question."

According to a rep for Lovato, however, this is not the case. The rep told E! that the reports are not true.

In addition, there still is no concrete proof that the two are even dating. Still, Lovato and Valderrama seem to be very close friends. Yesterday was Valderrama's 34th birthday, and Lovato took to Twitter to offer him a heartfelt birthday wish.

"To the funniest, most inspiring, incredible man I know.. @WValderrama - thank you for helping me get through my darkest moments.. You truly are a light to this world and to my life.. Happy Birthday!!!" the post said with a smiley face, cake and party hat emoji and a collage of her and Valderrama together.

The gesture did not go unnoticed by the birthday boy.

"@ddlovato who needs presents when the gift of you is real to us all.. Thank you for the blessing of knowing you," he responded via Twitter.
