Saturday’s chance to make big money playing Powerball is here. And since no one won the grand prize on Wednesday -- when the winning numbers were: 13, 16, 34, 45 and 50, and the Powerball was 11 -- all that money has rolled over and is now at $70 million with a cash value of $42.7 million.

There were 359,580 regular winners and $4,254,381 in non-jackpot money was won.

There are actually nine ways to play Powerball. Although the odds will likely change in October, currently there is a 1 in 175,223,510 chance of winning the grand prize and 1 in 5,153,632.65 of winning $1,000,000.

So the chances of winning are slim, but people do win. The main thing a Powerball player has to do, outside of checking the numbers, is hold on to the ticket.

In California, a man named Richard Denning, who had forgotten to check a Powerball ticket he had purchased a month back in Anaheim, has just discovered that he is a millionaire. As reported by ABC affiliate 30 Action News, Denning realized last week that he had a pile of old unchecked tickets lying around and when he checked the numbers he found one worth over a $1 million.

"I went to the store to check my tickets after work, and when I scanned the five numbers on the $10 Quick Pick ticket, I couldn't believe when the screen said I had won over a million dollars," said Denning.

Having won $1,109,553, Denning says he now plans to use some of that money to pay off his home and to help out his family.

As reported by Keloland.com, changes that may come to Powerball will lower the number of balls from which the Powerball is drawn from 35 down to 26.
