Dallas Cowboys Schedule: Game-By-Game Predictions For All 16 Matchups This Season
Another season of Dallas Cowboys football is on its way. After an eventful offseason of losing DeMarco Murray and re-signing Dez Bryant, the Cowboys are looking to win the NFC East for a second consecutive season. The Philadelphia Eagles are their biggest threat in the division as the New York Giants and Washington Redskins have much to improve upon.
Let's predict all 16 games of the Cowboys upcoming season
Week 1: New York Giants
The Cowboys have defeated the Giants the last four consecutive games, and the Giants have huge offensive line issues. Cowboys should open the season at home with a victory on Sunday Night Football.
Result: Win (1-0)
Week 2: at Philadelphia Eagles
This division should come to the Eagles and Cowboys. The Cowboys could very well win it in the end, but the Eagles will win at home in Week 2. Murray faces his old team in this game.
Result: Loss (1-1)
Week 3: Atlanta Falcons
After a frustrating loss to their division rivals, the Cowboys rebound with a good win against the Falcons. With this win, the Cowboys now have a winning record. Matt Ryan and Tony Romo have a little quarterback duel, but the Cowboys win this one at home.
Result: Win (2-1)
Week 4: at New Orleans Saints
The Saints defense is terrible, and now they don't even have Jimmy Graham on offense. This game will be played in New Orleans, but that won't make a huge difference. Cowboys win against a terrible defensive unit.
Result: Win (3-1)
Week 5: New England Patriots
Assuming Tom Brady is still suspended for four games, the Cowboys will most likely be facing off against Jimmy Garoppolo at home. The Patriots defense no longer has Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner or Vince Wilfork. The Cowboys enter the bye week with a 4-1 record.
Result: Win (4-1)
Week 6: Bye
Week 7: at New York Giants
Okay, here's where things get a little complicated. The Cowboys are well rested, but a little rusty after the bye week. The Giants will upset the Cowboys, giving them their first loss since Week 2.
Result: Loss (4-2)
Week 8: Seattle Seahawks
The Cowboys now lose their second consecutive game. They did beat the Seahawks last season, but the "Legion of Boom" will get revenge this time. Some doubt starts to creep in at this point in the season as the Cowboys lose their three conference game of the season.
Result: Loss (4-3)
Week 9: Philadelphia Eagles
And now, the Cowboys will go on their winning streak. In this game they will return the loss back to the Eagles. This is a must-win as a loss would drop the Cowboys to 4-4. Could we see Tim Tebow under center for this game?
Result: Win (5-3)
Week 10: at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers are the worst team in the league. Jameis Winston may do some good things as a rookie, but don't expect the upset here. The Cowboys easily take of business midway through the season.
Result: Win (6-3)
Week 11: at Miami Dolphins
This works out really well for the Cowboys. Back-to-back road games, but they're both in the same state. Ryan Tannehill will have a good day at home, but the Dolphins will come up short.
Result: Win (7-3)
Week 12: Carolina Panthers
The Panthers did make the playoffs last year, but don't let that "success" fool you. They won the division with a 7-8-1 record, and the Cowboys historically play well on Thanksgiving Day. Greg Hardy playing against his former team should be interesting.
Result: Win (8-3)
Week 13: at Washington Redskins
It's one of the greatest rivalries in NFL history, but it hasn't been very balanced lately. The Cowboys have won three of the last four matchups, and Robert Griffin III is having trouble staying healthy. With this win, the Cowboys have successfully beat everyone in the division.
Result: Win (9-3)
Week 14: at Green Bay Packers
We return to scene of crime. Was it a catch or was it a drop? It doesn't really matter now. The Packers and Cowboys represent two of the most successful franchises in NFL history, and they'll duke it out in Week 14. A December game at Lambeau Field is just what Aaron Rodgers and the Packers want. The Cowboys winning streak comes to an end. We might see these two face off a few weeks later in the playoffs.
Result: Loss (9-4)
Week 15: New York Jets
The Jets have made tremendously good moves on the defensive side of the ball, but offense? Not so much. For all we know, Geno Smith may not even be starting this game. Cowboys at home, an enormous quarterback advantage and the playoffs on the line equals a Cowboys victory.
Result: Win (10-4)
Week 16: at Buffalo Bills
This should be a great game as LeSean McCoy faces a familiar foe. The Bills have an elite defensive unit, and they'll be hosting a (expected to be) freezing cold game in Buffalo, New York. This will be decided in the final drive as the Cowboys make a game-winning field goal. This field goal won't go wide right. Sorry, Bills fans.
Result: Win (11-4)
Week 17: Washington Redskins
At this point in the season, the Redskins have been eliminated from playoff contention. However, they would love nothing more than to beat and possibly knock the Cowboys out as well. This game will be closer than expected, but Jason Garrett's crew gets the win.
Result: Win (12-4)
