The tenure of Jon Stewart as host of "The Daily Show" is quickly winding down, and the legendary comical genius who is best known for his political satire will be handing the reigns over to a new host, Trevor Noah, on Aug. 6, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Stewart has hosted all kinds of celebrities and politicians on the show, which includes six previous appearances by President Barack Obama. But as the clock winds down, Obama will be making a seventh and final appearance on the show with Stewart.

The two have played well off each other in the past. President Obama has taken Stewart's comical criticism in stride with a few jabs of his own to throw back at the host. They both have become an entertaining pair that wittingly jab at issues on the political stage, of which the president himself is usually caught in the middle.

Although Obama has appeared on the show six previous times, he has only been a guest there three times as president.

On Aug. 6, Stewart's last new episode will air, and Noah's first episode will premiere on Sept. 28.

President Obama's next appearance will be this week on Tuesday.

Time magazine reports Obama first started making appearances on "The Daily Show" back in 2005. Back then, he was a senator from Illinois and a rising star on his way to becoming president of the United States. He made a total of four appearances on the show as a senator.

Noah signed on to "The Daily Show" back in 2014 as a contributor. There have been no details released yet as to who will be appearing first on the show when Noah takes over.
