Horror comic book creator Robert Kirkman has proven to the world that his content makes for great TV. That is why the success of the mega-hit series "The Walking Dead" has been so far-reaching. And now, he has another one of his comic books, "Outcast," coming to television, according to Deadline.

This series will be hosted on premium cable network Cinemax and has been given a 10-episode order. It steps back and takes another look at the horror genre, this time from the perspective of demonic possession.

The show follows Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit) who has been plagued his whole life with demonic possessions. Barnes is obviously tiring of the affliction, and the show follows his overwhelming journey to understand why he has become the magnet of these evil sprits that plague him.

Kirkman was absent from the panel at Comic-Con in San Diego this year. But he did pre-record a video introducing the series.

"Like 'The Walking Dead,' we come at things from a different angle," Kirkman said in the video at SDCC 2015.

That different angle is clearly present in the trailer, which takes a thrilling look at how demonic possessions play out in his comic world. It is clear the series is solely focused on the suffering of the afflicted as opposed to the horror of an exorcism. The desolate setting for the show takes on chilling overtones the audience can't help but fear for the main character and what he is destined to endure.

The Wrap reports the series also features an alcoholic evangelist and another young boy Barnes encounters with the same affliction.

The series will premier on Cinemax in 2016.
