Super Bowl Party: Celebrities Attend Sponsored Pre-Super Bowl Events In New York City
Many celebrities live in New York City and with this year's Super Bowl coming to town there were many sponsored parties the weekend before the big game. Cipriani's 42nd Street was one example, full of celebrities on Friday night for a party sponsored by Shape and Men's Fitness magazines, with tickets costing $2,500 per person. Jeff Ross hosted the party which featured performances by Mary J. Blige, Marc Anthony, and John Legend.
Guests included supermodel Petra Nemcova, TV hosts Stephen Colbert, Katie Couric and Gayle King, and film producer Harvey Weinstein. The menu featured lobster, strip loin, branzino, kale smoothies and shots made with lemon and ginger.
An after-dinner charity auction benefitted many of the guests' own charities, such as Nemcova's the Happy Hearts Fund, Legend's Show Me Campaign, Blige's Mary J. Blige Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now Inc. and Anthony's Maestro Cares.
Alec Baldwin hosted at the Big Game Big Give Super Bowl Party at Tibeca Rooftop, an invite only event with tickets priced at $1500. Chris Bosh and Macklemore, among other athlete and celebrity guests, showed up for the invite-only GQ Super Bowl party held at the Boom Boom Room at Standard Hotel.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted the invite-only Howard Stern Birthday Bash Super Bowl Party at the Hammerstein Ballroom, where and Steven Tyler, David Letterman and Louis CK were in attendance with performances by John Fogerty and Jon Bon Jovi. Jermaine Dupri, Kendrick Lamar, Robin Thicke, and other athletes and celebrities attended the ESPN Super Bowl Party at Pier 36, where tickets were being sold on the secondary market for $1300-2000.
Bar Refaeli and Brooklyn Decker attended the Leather and Laces Super Bowl Party at Liberty Theatre, whose tickets went for as much as $14,400. Maroon 5 performed at the JBL Private Super Bowl party at Beacon Theatre and Jon Gosselin was seen attending the MAXIM Super Bowl Party at ESPACE. Nelly was at the invite-only Playboy Super Bowl Party at Bug Light Hotel at Pier 88, which also housed the Pandora Presents Imagine Dragons party. Justin Bieber even showed up.
