The World Boxing Council Silver welterweight title holder Amir Khan is moving on after not being chosen by the undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. for his September bout through a return to the ring this fall. However, Khan is clear that he will not go against fellow British boxer Kell Brook.

Since Mayweather's 49th and probably last foe on Sept. 12 is Andre Berto, as confirmed by TMZ Sports, Khan is resolved to focus on his Plan B, which is to have a match in November or December.

Since Khan is not facing "The Money," Brook's camp already reached out to him for a possible bout. Promoter Eddie Hearn sent Khan a text message to talk to him about a big fight with Brook this November, reported Sky Sports.

"Who else other than Kell Brook can give him what he needs and give him the numbers that he needs?" Hearn told the site.

Khan refuses to clash with Brook this year

Despite being undefeated with 35 wins and with 24 knockouts to boot, the International Boxing Federation champion does not seem to impress the "King Khan" with his credentials. However, Khan gave pointers to the unbeaten welterweight on how he could get his attention.

"All he has to do is face some top names, like Bradley, Maidana and Thurman... I proved myself by going in and fighting guys at their peak, but with him, he's not doing that. Instead he's fought Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Gavin in his last two fights. Why not prove himself?" the 28-year-old Khan informed the Mirror.

The boxer, who triumphed over Chris Algieri in May, even stated that Brook is not capable of filling the Wembley Stadium in London, a feat he claimed he can do if he faces either Mayweather Jr. or Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao again.

Khan also advised Brook to build himself up so that when the time comes that they meet on the ring, "there would be two super, mega names" for the fans to see similar to the Mayweather-Pacquiao bout.

"Why make it a fight for £5 million-£10 million to when it could be a £100 million fight?" said Khan.

Khan's possible next opponent

Sebastian Contoursi, manager of Marcos Maidana (35-5, 31KOs), is also offering Khan a rematch against his fighter who clashed with Khan in 2010 but lost via a unanimous decision.

"I would like Marcos to face Amir Khan in a rematch. But this is still my personal desire," Contoursi told Buenos Aires outlet "First Glove," as quoted by Boxing Scene.

Although Maidana was defeated in two of his recent fights, he lost them to Mayweather, whom Khan longs to collide with. It may be possible for Khan to consider a rematch, as he thinks of Maidana as a "top name," too. Moreover, Khan and Maidana are advised by Al Haymon, so if their adviser gives a go signal, the fight may be a done deal.

Khan vs. Mayweather in 2016?

Yet, the former World Boxing Association and IBF light welterweight champ is still hoping that Mayweather will not make Berto his final opponent. If "The Money" will be back in May, Khan wants to be the unbeaten fighter's foe on the ring that time.

"I still think that fight can happen because I don't believe Floyd is going to retire after a fight like that... He will come back for one more fight and that could be me," Khan told the press.
