"WWE SmackDown" kicked off its first television taping following The Undertaker's return at "Battleground" last Sunday. Undertaker, however, does not appear on Thursday's show.

The show opened with Dean Ambrose, who did not have a match last Sunday but found himself in Roman Reigns' feud against Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. After delivering a promo, Sheamus interrupted Ambrose. After exchanging words, the two WWE Superstars had a one-on-one match.

Sheamus defeated Ambrose. Despite being extremely popular with the crowd during Tuesday's taping, Ambrose lost due to a distraction by Wyatt. Capitalizing on the opportunity, Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick on Ambrose for the pin.

The feud between Neville and Stardust lived on as the former defeated Adam Rose for the second match of the show. After Neville's win, Stardust cut a promo.

The promos continued, but this time by King Barrett, who touted his win against R-Truth at "Battleground."

In a match that likely caused confusion for fans, Rusev and Kevin Owens fought each other in the next match, despite being heels -- not fan favorites. Owens walked away from the match, which gave Rusev the count-out victory.

Backstage, Cesaro confronted Owens. Cesaro and Owens exchanged words, which included the Swiss superstar mocking Owens' continuous walkouts from matches.

It appears Cesaro and Owens will feud together for "SummerSlam." It will be Owens' next feud after losing to United States Champion John Cena at "Battleground." While many WWE fans are disappointed with how the Cena-Owens feud ended, fans should expect a brilliant match between Cesaro and Owens -- two professional wrestlers with more than a decade of wrestling experience.

It's heels against heels again, and no pun intended as the divas have the next match. The Bella Twins defeated Team B.A.D. (Beautiful and Dangerous) when Divas Champion Nikki Bella hit the Rack Attack on Naomi.

For the main event, WWE World a Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins fought in his first televised match since "Battleground." Cesaro was his opponent, but he lost against the champion. Owens resurfaced and attacked Cesaro with a Pop-up Powerbomb.

After the show ended, Rollins and Owens had a stare down but then both attacked Cesaro. While Rollins got a table, Ambrose appeared. To end the taping, Ambrose put Rollins through the announcer table.

"WWE SmackDown" airs weekly on Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on SyFy.
