In the freshman run for the comedy series "The Last Man on Earth" on Fox, Phil Miller (Will Forte) made quite an impression on audiences. But now that the season has ended with a cliffhanger, showing his brother (Jason Sudeikis) stranded in space aboard the space station, questions have lingered as to whether or not he will be joining the Tucson family in Season 2.

According to International Business Times, the answer is yes -- sort of.

Forte attended a conference panel at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego and gave a few details about his onscreen brother and what else to expect out of Season 2. Although he said Sudeikis would be in the show playing his brother, he did not elaborate as to whether he makes it back from space or if the episodes will feature him in flashbacks.

"I don't see him being up in space forever. He used to live in Tucson as well, so it seems natural that he might try to go back and see what's going on with his hometown," Forte said.

Although the first season introduced a new character in nearly every episode (despite the show's title), Forte said there will be a migration away from Tucson, and there may or may not be an introduction of new characters. He did not elaborate any further.

Entertainment Weekly reports Phil and Carol's whereabouts have not yet been established for Season 2, given the open-ended way the first season ended.

"Phil is not allowed on the cul-de-sac right now," Forte said. "It is entirely possible that Phil and Carol could be living somewhere else for the whole season, and we're checking in on the different people. But I would think that they would somehow rendezvous at some point earlier in the season."
