"Empire" ended with Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) in jail, Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) owning their family company and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) planning to fight for what's hers.

Now we get to see what happens next in the new trailer for Season 2 posted to YouTube.

Cookie storms into Empire with her nemesis Anika (Grace Gealey) and her two other sons Andre (Trai Byers) and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray).

Then Cookie is on stage with a mic in her hand. Is she going to start making music too? Or is she giving a speech to claim the family's music company?

As the scenes go on, you can see that Andre and Cookie have teamed up while Hakeem and Anika are working close together.

Then Cookie goes to visit Lucious. She looks up at him as he walks toward her with a smile on his face and an orange jump suit on.

In the season finale, Lucious was arrested at his own music concert under suspicion that he killed Cookie's cousin, Bunkie (Antoine McKay).

Speculation has it Cookie told on Lucious. But she would never do that. She always has his back. She spent 17 years in prison for him.

As the Feds walked Lucious out of the concert in handcuffs, Cookie's "probation officer" hinted Vernon (Malik Yoba) was the key witness. Little does she know that Vernon was recently killed by Andre's wife.

Will Lucious find out Cookie really wasn't the one who told on him?

The trailer gave a glimpse of the Lyon family's daily lives. Hakeem is in the studio while Jamal is onstage singing to a big crowd.

Will the Lyons ever start working together to help build their family company again? Will the cops find out who killed Vernon? And when will Lucious get out of jail?

Tune into Season 2 of Fox's "Empire" on Sept. 23 to find out.
