Motorola Moto G: Customizable Smartphone at Affordable Price
Motorola has an important event on July 28. It is expected that they will introduce updated versions of both the Moto X and the Moto G. According to new details, the Moto G is expected to be customizable, Tech Radar reports.
Motorola offers the Moto Maker website to buyers of the Moto X and Moto 360 smartwatch, but now it looks like the Moto G will be included on the website, according to a leak from Reddit.
Buyers will be able to choose from a black or white front housing, but they will have many more choices for the back housing. The back of the Moto G can be customized in many different colors: cherry, cabernet, blue, raspberry, turquoise, black, gold yellow, white, lime and navy.
Additionally, according to the leak, the phone can be accented with metallic colors of light chrome, blue, red, lemon lime, dark chrome, champagne, black, orange, violet and pink.
Buyers can choose to purchase a separate FlipShell in black, red, raspberry, blue and turquoise for $19.99 each.
When Moto Maker adds the Moto G to its site, users will be able to play around with the different color options and see a 3-D preview of what their device will look like before buying it.
Motorola has teased the July 28 event with a rather vague invitation. Motorola sent out invites that said, "Your relationship status is about to change," and signed the invitation "XGX, Moto." The XGX signature is probably in reference to the Moto X and Moto G phones that are both expected to be updated. With two X's in the signature, some have predicted that there would be two new Moto X devices introduced at the event.
The Moto G is a cheaper smartphone than the Moto X but still a popular choice for many customers because of its features.
