In what has become a surprise hit for the Syfy channel, "Sharknado" premiered its third installment of the series this week on the cable network. But, the ending left fans with a cliffhanger, wondering what happened at the end of the movie with April Wexler, who is portrayed by Tara Reid.

According to Deadline, Syfy has taken to social media in an attempt to engage with its audience. The last scene of the third film saw a space shuttle piece hurtling toward Wexler in the film, but before we saw it hit her, the movie ended.

Now, Syfy wants to know from you and all their fans if they should kill her off or let her live. That is the basis for the upcoming "Sharknado 4," which has already been planned for the network.

In a Twitter post, Syfy just came right out and asked fans.

"Will April make it to 'Nado number 4? YOU DECIDE! VOTE now using ‪#AprilLives OR ‪#AprilDies! ‪#Sharknado3," the post read.

For those who do not use Twitter, you can also vote on their website at Sharknado.syfy.com.

But either way you look at it, the results won't be announced until the movie premieres on the cable network.

The current installment of the series featured the same campy special effects and cameos that the previous two had. It also starred Ian Ziering ("Beverly Hills, 90210"), who has been in all three films.

In the third movie, of course, the fictionalized nature gives way to the horrible possibilities of what the future holds. That includes the fictional President, who just so happens to be Mark Cuban. If that isn't disturbing enough for you, then just know that his VP is Ann Coulter.

Coulter also took to Twitter to voice her praise for the film, telling fans the movie was "every bit as good as the book!"
